Holistic treatments are offered in addition to Arvigo® Therapy as customized sessions for women. Serving your highest intention of well-being, I blend a variety of styles of massage and bodywork with nurturing and sensitivity, while empowering you with self care to continue at home. If you’re looking to unwind and release what no longer serves, while reconnecting with your breath and finding balance, and are ready to experience gentle transformation, let’s work together. Some of the techniques and influences in my work are: myofascial release, deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point therapy, biodynamic, CranioSacral therapy, Reiki and my specialty, the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy®.

I also comfortably provide optional full chest and breast massage with written informed consent, along with breast self care instruction for clients who wish it, having completed the specific required training hours in compliance with the laws of the state of Washington.

Each session is customized to meet your desired intention, focusing on specific treatment areas or overall peace and healing. I’m often told that my solid wood table is one of the most comfortable around, topped with a wool pad over a heated pad and soft warm sheets with a blanket to ensure warmth and preserve modesty at all times. Soft colorful sarongs are used for chest draping during abdominal massage. It is all about your comfort, and even dressing down for massage is completely optional as I can also work over clothing, if you prefer. No two sessions are exactly alike, as I focus on treating the areas which are most beneficial for you that day.

There are numerous health benefits to receiving massage.  Nearly every system in the body (including cardiovascular, lymphatic, endocrine, and digestive) are positively affected and massage has no harmful side effects. Everyone can benefit from massage at least once monthly for maintaining vibrant health.

Breast Massage

Breast Massage

Whether you wish to have an integrative experience of full body massage that feels more complete, or to specifically enjoy the health benefits of massaging the full chest and breasts, this is available as part of your treatment according to your level of comfort and draping preferences. Conditions such as breast pain, congestion, pre-menstrual swelling, and fibrocystic breasts may all respond to massage treatment.  Massaging the chest can also reduce tension, and improve breathing, while improving movement and posture in the neck, shoulders and upper back. Women with larger breasts and those with scar tissue from surgeries may notice particular benefits. This therapy is also available to non-binary people, those in transition, and all genders who have survived breast cancer or experienced breast surgery.

Empowering self-care instruction on breast massage is also available as part of a treatment session, whether or not breast massage is included in the treatment.

Massage of the breasts is offered according to the legal guidelines of the state of Washington, including completion of at least 16 hours continuing education on this topic, according to client’s draping preferences, and only with written informed consent of clients on health intake form.

CranioSacral

CranioSacral

Imagine deep inner peace made possible by tuning into your own “internal ocean current” ebbing and flowing… and returning you home to yourself…

Craniosacral is a special form of bodywork, developed by osteopathic physicians, which is both gentle and powerful. Clients rest clothed on a massage table. The touch is very light, seldom using more than 5 grams of pressure (the weight of a nickel) and sometimes less. Very quickly, clients drop into a deep state of relaxation.

Many of the health conditions which can contraindicate other forms of massage can actually benefit from Craniosacral. It has successfully been used to treat such diverse conditions as headaches, TMJ dysfunction, chronic middle ear infections, vertigo, depression, back pain, joint immobility, neck pain, sinus congestion, migraines, learning disabilities, and trauma.

CST works with the wisdom of the body to heal itself. The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and the spinal cord. The ebb and flow (filling and draining) of cerebrospinal fluid through the system creates a unique rhythm (6-12 complete cycles per minute) which can be felt anywhere on the body.

By monitoring the craniosacral rhythm, the therapist gains valuable information to facilitate greater ease of movement in the body, including the cranial bones.
Because it takes great energy to adapt to restrictions, treatments can be deeply relaxing, and even sleep-inducing. Effects after treatment include greater mental clarity, calmness, and ability to sleep more deeply at night. These effects can continue to integrate and last days, weeks or even longer.

Craniosacral is beneficial for all ages, including children, and is particularly indicated for hyperactivity, head injuries including birth trauma, and autism.

Reiki

Reiki

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is universal life-force energy, most often utilized through hands-on healing, although it can be directed from inches away from the body or even long-distance. It is channeled by the practitioner for a client’s well-being, providing healing on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions.

One does not need to believe in Reiki for it to be effective. It is sacred, divine loving light energy, but is not limited to any particular religious belief system. It is safe for everyone and can never do harm.

I have been practicing Reiki since 2003 and have been an Usui Reiki Master and Teacher since 2009. In addition to blending Reiki into my bodywork practice, Reiki is also a cherished part of my life.

There is an ever-increasing need for healing ourselves, our world, and for peace on our planet. On occasion, I host Reiki circles with other practitioners as well as teaching classes , which includes passing on attunements to those who want to have Reiki as part of their self-care, to treat friends and family and pets, or to integrate into a professional bodywork practice.

Please let me know as soon as you have set your intention to be a part of one of my classes. I prefer to work with small, intimate groups, and private initiations are also available.
